中国相继颁布了《烟草专卖法》、《广告法》、《未成年人保护法》、《预防未成年人犯罪法》以及《公共场所卫生管理条例》；开展了无吸烟场所、无吸烟单位、无烟草广告城市的创建和认定工作；对烟草工业企业加大联合重组，严厉打击烟草非法贸易，禁止向未成年人出售香烟，在中华人民共和国领域内禁止使用自动售烟机；力争将2008 年北京奥运会办成无烟奥运会。

The Chinese government has promulgated a series of laws constantly ：" Tobacco Monopoly Law ," " Advertising Law ", "Law on Protection of minors ", "Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency" and "Regulations on the Management of Public Sanitation"; carried out activities of creating smoke free places, workplaces and cities , reorganized tobacco industries as well as cracked down on illegal tobacco trade, prohibited the sale of cigarettes to the minor and prohibited the use of vending machines within the areas of the People's Republic of China so as to strive to hold a smoke-free 2008 Beijing Olympic Games .
