stirring appeal is spoilt by a malapropism in the last phrase, the word
singularity. What the writer means, I think, was singleness of mind,
holding steadfastly to the purpose in mind, without being drawing aside
by less worthy objects. Singularity means oddity or peculiarity,
something that singles a man out from other men.
译文：一番振奋人心的呼吁就绘羽最后荒唐的词语缪用--奇思异想。我揣测笔者想表达“坚定不移的意志”，即不为所惑，持之以恒的决心。而“奇思异想”意指奇异或怪癖，有使人从群体分离的特质。
